"My daily goal is to push myself and every team member to work with greater synergy and creativity, to attain design solutions that exceed expectations in creating a stronger, safer community and spirit of place."
Brad’s approach to architecture is grounded in the belief that design should do more than solve problems; it should shape places that create a sense of belonging and connection, guided by the design principles of informed simplicity and spirit of place.
He was drawn to the power and impact of buildings from an early age. When rewarded for good behavior as a child, Brad asked for drives around the city to see interesting buildings. He even enjoyed tagging along on family medical visits because he was intrigued by the design of a mid-century medical office. That early curiosity evolved into a lifelong dedication to creating meaningful, enduring places through thoughtful design.
For Brad, design and community are inseparable. His passion lies in appreciating the power of architecture to improve lives — particularly through educational and civic projects with lasting impact. This is exemplified by Peperzak Middle School, for which he focused the team to shape flexible, inclusive spaces supporting a changing educational environment reflecting the context of its unique location overlooking the Palouse wheatfields. His love for creating enriching places is matched by his enthusiasm for working in collaborative environments where diverse voices elevate the outcome. Known for balancing creativity with clear-eyed strategy, he brings a unique blend of design excellence and rigor to every project.
Guided by humility, rigor, and respect, he approaches each project as an opportunity to listen. Considering design as a shared story, Brad’s strength lies in helping clients uncover and tell that story through thoughtful, contextual architecture that serves, sustains, and inspires.
