Fifty years ago, Expo ’74 put Spokane on the map! This week, a celebration marking that occasion kicks off – with activities through July. Former Integrus Presidents George and Jerry were there for all the action, and in this Journal of Business article offer memories about what it was like to help bring this transformative civic event together.

George was on the Walker McGough design team (Integrus founders and predecessor company) for both the Opera House and Washington State Pavilion, which endure to this day as the FICA (First Interstate Center for the Arts) and the Spokane Convention Center. Jerry worked for the Expo Corporation coordinating all design and construction aspects of the event (then joined the firm after Expo).

And Becky Barnhart, current Integrus President, talks about building on the legacy of their efforts, as Integrus continues to contribute to the civic fabric of the city through design.
