Aspiration & Achievement

Expansion and modernization give this city landmark a fresh look and updated operations, energizing its connection to the adjacent riverfront and keeping it relevant in the competitive convention and event arena.

PROJECT DETAILS

As original designers of this building for the Expo ’74 World’s Fair, it was exciting to be asked back decades later to ensure this legacy attraction endures as the region’s premier event venue. Located alongside the Spokane River in the heart of the city, the extraordinary venue features distinctive spaces offering an exceptional backdrop for unforgettable event and convention experiences.

Updates add 270,000 SF of exhibit space and convention facilities, as well as an additional parking garage. The design maximizes the building’s connection with the natural beauty of the area with window walls framing views of the river and cityscape. It’s location on the newly revitalized Riverfront Park connect it to nearby restaurants, hotels, and sport destinations.

Well-appointed spaces including exhibit halls, ballrooms and theater are adaptable and efficient to meet current and changing needs over time, positioning the convention center to attract large conferences and trade shows to Spokane. Expansion and modernization give it a fresh look, keeping it relevant in the competitive convention arena.
