The NOMA PDX ‘Call-to-Action’ pledge promotes improved racial equality in the architecture profession. An initial signatory, Integrus encourages other AEC firms and providers in Oregon to join this collective effort by NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects) working toward a more diverse and inclusive industry.
The two-year Call-to-Action with bi-annual reporting is a meaningful undertaking. It includes 19 commitments ranging from prerequisites building on foundational elements and a commitment to ongoing changes. These include equitable hiring, improved leadership pathways, EDI training, seeking to work with BIPOC consultants, and challenging complacency of the status quo. We’re also pleased to sponsor NOMA chapters in Portland and Seattle and have enjoyed participating in the popular ‘Project Pipeline’ youth design program as well as the recent NOMA National Conference.
It’s time for critical conversations, reflection, and a long-term commitment to systemic change.
