PROJECT DETAILS
The Center for Health Education supports nurturing collaborative relationships between the college and the surrounding healthcare and medical community. Designed for flexibility, this multifunctional hub accommodates the diverse needs of its various programs and is adaptable for both current and future requirements. The facility is home to several key programs, including the College of Nursing, Professional Career Development programs, Student Services, English as a Second Language (ESL), and the Dental program. This broad array of uses underscores the center’s role as a vital component in the college’s mission to provide comprehensive, integrated educational opportunities.
The architectural approach emphasizes adaptability, ensuring that each area within the building can be reconfigured as needs evolve. This flexibility is vital in a field as dynamic as healthcare, where new technologies and methodologies can rapidly shift program requirements. The design includes modular classrooms, versatile lab spaces, and multipurpose areas that can be easily adjusted to support various teaching and learning formats. Beyond its functional attributes, the center is designed to serve as a central nexus for student engagement and professional development. The facility features dedicated spaces for career advancement and student services, enhancing the overall support network available to students. Its strategic design facilitates interaction between educational programs and the community, reinforcing the college’s role as a cornerstone in regional health education. Overall, the Center for Health Education exemplifies the college’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and community engagement. Through this adaptable contemporary facility, the college not only meets the current educational demands but also sets a precedent for future-focused design in higher education. The first building on the new Harmony Campus, this continues work on both the main Clackamas and Wilsonville campuses. |
